You need to save the prescription record before searching for the services. Once the prescription record is saved you can search and assign for the current Health Document associated to that patient. You check this functionality on the development community server (air32). I've tested it and it, showing the latest draft service document first for that patient. Of course, you could always create a new one, but in your case, since the Service Document is created beforehand at the hospital registration desk, in most cases you will just need to assign it.
