The log4j is inherited from the original hadoop log4j (where we created separated logger for ozone). I agree that it could be simplified (for example `OZONE` and `console` appenders are very similar). But it's not clear what's the problem with logging everything to the file? > Remove log4j config for package org.apache.hadoop.ozone, as it cause the log in this package cannot be written to .log file Can you please explain why can't the log be written to the log file? (which log file?)
