On October 5, 1968, Abraham Pinto donated a collection of Jewish liturgical music recordings to the Library of Congress, which became part of the American Folklife Center Collections. This lecture will explore Pinto’s interaction with the Library, other institutions involved with his recordings, and present the sounds of Jewish Morocco captured over fifty years ago. Following the lecture, an Andalus concert will be performed in the Great Hall.
