When I was a rare book librarian, we used a book cradle set of polyethylene foam. It has lots of pieces to accommodate different sizes of books. I see Gaylord is selling sets, but they are pretty expensive. They also sell acrylic book cradles for display, but they are not flexible, like the sets. Gaylord also sells a display pillow. I think Gaylord is the only company left that's selling archival supplies, but others on hasafran may know of more options.
