I just started looking at the code:
NETIO_CONNECT( [<cServer>], [<nPort>], [<nTimeOut>], ;
[<cPasswd>], [<nCompressionLevel>], [<nStrategy>] )
nTimeOut defaults to -1 if you don't set it, and I guess that means no timeout.
Note, I haven't run any code or confirmed my guess by digging deeper.
