Why should rpm call strip (and objdump) in these cases at all?
Because it on some distros ti tries to create separate package
with debug information.
Can't it be simply disabled?
I do not know such method.
Can the .rpm creation process changed so that
it gets called of the GNU Make process, rather
than being the entry point calling GNU Make?
If we could "reverse" it, it would also solve
problems of missing detection information (HB_HAS_*
vars).
IOW, can we call .rpm creation from GNU Make,
instead of calling GNU Make from .rpm creation
script?
