The mingw-w64 project is a complete run time environment for gcc to support binaries native to Windows 64-bit and 32-bit operating systems
This project is a good alternative to VisualStudio C++ for x64. It's also an alternative to the "original" MinGW. The project maintainers are very responsive, and the hot patches are typically applied quickly.
