Yes, obviously we don't want to focus on supporting older versions due the
licensing. (well, technically we could, but
it isn't worth the effort as I doubt users would use this lib for open
source development, nor do I think many would
like to buy a license).

I guess it's possible to use QT 4.5 on these Linuxes by
installing QT package downloaded from Nokia, so no need
to wait for the distro makers. (I didn't try)

If anyone knows a way how to check for QT version inside
source files, let us know.
