Thanks Bruno, I will pass on it as it seems to rely on calls to Win32 functions. Linux also uses a port name not a number and this would not be incorporated. I have resolved the problems that I was having with hbtpathy and my application is working - just a bit of tidying up to do. Thanks again for your interest, Cheers, Barry
