Hi,
no, I've never used Firebird in real app, I only created a sample of sql
driver for Harbour. It is based on native Firebird C API
(http://www.ibphoenix.com/downloads/60ApiGuide.zip), but not on IBPP. I
guess IBPP is also based on Firebird API.
Every DBMS has its + and -. Someone needs Oracle, someone is satisfied
with SQLite. We just need a man using some SQL DBMS with Harbour and C
knowledge, to have a good implementation in Harbour.
Best regards,
Mindaugas
Hi Mindaugas,
Have you looked at IBPP Firebird Client Interface for Firebird at
http://www.ibpp.org/ ?
The FlameRobin Firebird DBMS Utility (http://www.flamerobin.org/) was based on
this.
Considering FireBird's single file and very small footprint DB compared to its "giant"
counterparts (MySql, PostGreSQL, MS-SQL, Oracle, etc.), would it be a viable alternate to DBF for
users who wish to implement a "light" and full-featured SQL DBMS under (x)Harbour/Clipper?
This is just my thought as (x)Harbour application developer since I'm not a C/C++ programmer so for sure it's only the gurus (of course we know who you are...) could recommend.
Thanks and best regards,
Mario
