The apps are 100% exactly the same. I just suspect
the index was created by the Clipper version of my
app, but nevertheless 1.0.1 opens it, while 1.1.0
doesn't.
And this is the answer. Header validation is too strong
and recognize this index as corrupted because it sets
that for expression has 1 byte and starts in the same
place as key expression (overwriting). I'll reduce header
validation in a while. BTW which Clipper RDD creates such
indexes.
Many thanks, after your fix, all .cdx-es are recognized
just fine.
