You can use VirtualBox (virtualbox.org)
In last months I use VirtualBox to use Windows XP within Linux Mandriva
2008.1 without need to boot partition where I have a "real" Windows XP
I have not seen differences between "real" WinXP and WinXP within
VirtualBox, except speed
