Perhaps you are linking hrb.lib, the same happened to me, until I saw the
readme.txt:
"zlib library (http://www.zlib.net/) wrapper functions"
I downloaded zlib1.dll
Made an:
implib zlib1.lib zlib1.dll
This solved the problem.
