It looks like you are using Oracle mode. DATE data type in Oracle also has 
time part and this data type is remapped to a TIMESTAMP since H2 1.4.197 
for better compatibility with Oracle.

Also Oracle does not have MySQL-style CONVERT function. Its CONVERT 
function converts character sets.

Oracle has TRUNC(date) function, for example, that removes time part. You 
can use this function in both Oracle and H2.
