Ciertamente. Si no recuerdo mal, la última vez que lo hice (en Lenny), que fue porque quería instalar Virtualbox desde fuente y me pedía unos headers que no tenia instalados, busqué por linux-image uno adecuado, y luego me asegure de que existieran los headers. Estas cosas hay que hacerlas también a veces cuando se trata de instalar módems.
