Ahora... la wiki que estoy leyendo es la de SuperOS, un proyecto prometedor
pero tengo dudas si abrir otro hilo al respecto.
Super OS (formerly: Super Ubuntu) is a freely-available Linux distribution. It
is a remastered version of Ubuntu focused on an out-of-the-box experience and
offline freedom.
Super OS includes a graphical way to run executable files and scripts with App
runner, it is prepackaged with support for MP3 files and video-DVDs. Also
included are Opera, Google Chrome, Adobe Flash Player, and more communication
software (aMSN and Skype), Wine, the GUI for Uncomplicated Firewall, and other
software installed by default.
App Runner
App Runner is a script included in Super OS that allows most executable
programs or scripts to be launched without having to use the command line.
The RUNZ Framework is a tool that allows the use of portable apps and something
called SuperDebs (an installer with a .deb file + its dependencies that can be
installed offline, created by SuperDeb Creator) in Super OS.
In addition to the official Ubuntu repositories, Super OS also includes its own
repositories, which include third-party software like Adobe Reader, Skype, Real
Player, TrueCrypt, and Google Chrome, but also include tools/software developed
by hacktolive, like App Runner, and RUNZ.
Previous versions of Super OS has received some positive reviews, with
Softpedia saying of Super Ubuntu 2008.11: "The 'super powers' of Super Ubuntu
can be translated into the inclusion of applications, tools and technologies
that are missing from a standard Ubuntu 8.10 (Intrepid Ibex) installation."
Super Ubuntu 2008.11 was a featured download on Lifehacker, which said "It's
basically just a re-compiled version of the official Ubuntu distribution, but
with a whole bunch of features included that save you the time of grabbing them
yourself." Super OS 9.10 was also announced on Softpedia as "Karmic Koala with
Muscles"
As of September 2011, Super OS ranked 38th on the twelve-month page hit ranking
of DistroWatch However, page hits on Distrowatch are not relative to the actual
number of users of a distro, so are no indication of popularity.
