I've been meaning to go back to this issue to see what the problem was with some encrypted emails in the past, but just now found out this detail of rewriting messages (see <https://jfloren.net/b/2023/7/7/0> and <https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=36640563>) which I guess hasn't changed. I assumed it was the various moving parts of me, GPG, keys, mail, emacs/mu4e/gnus, ...
