Well, to give a bit of feedback, for me this GCD had the opposite
drawback of a bikeshedding issue: I did not really feel competent on a
somewhat complicated technical matter and was waiting for the experts to
debate it :)  (This reminds me of the "liquid democracy" voting system,
where one can delegate one's voice to someone else one trusts to be
better informed about a given issue; probably not something we would
like to install in Guix.)

On the content side, from what I understood, the idea of adding lots of (?)
Guix specific environment variables and patching interpreters and so on
to use them sounded more complicated to me than the current system, with
the drawback of needing constant maintenance work. And this to solve a
problem I probably did not grasp well because I had never experienced it
(except for the .something-real, which is more of a nuisance than a
problem, I never notice that a program is wrapped, so things apparently
work out of the box for me).
