Hello Giovanni,

I’m a daily GNU Jami user, and also slowly contributing to it upstream.

Distributing Jami is actually a pain, and getting it working on something like
Guix is moreso. Take a look at ffmpeg-jami (in gnu/packages/video.scm of Guix
source tree) or jami’s qt package in Guix. There’s a lot of patching that gets
done.

I also experience the same sort of issues you mentioned, synchronization issues
and the freezing ones. Thank you for investigating with different systems, now
we know with some certainty that the issue is in Guix’s Jami package. I was
going to such testing with different devices soon. Also thank you for creating
the issue, we can follow up there.

There’s also an issue in upstream jami-client-qt at:
https://git.jami.net/savoirfairelinux/jami-client-qt/-/issues/1781

if you want to take a look.

P.S: We also have a Jami swarm for Guix (and Emacs), if you want to connect
there with other Guix users, send me a contact invitation to the username:
divyaranjan1905

Regards,
