Hello Matt. It was wrong of me not to react for so long. And now, I want to state my disagreement to [1]. You propose / ask (kind of a wishlist bug) to collect the information about profiles in one, new section. But because profiles are core Guix behavior and not a functionality, it seems right to me to keep the information where it is and just reference it from the concept index, as is the status quo?
In particular, “guix package” is not “for user profiles” and not one more command supporting profiles. It really is the fundamental CLI interface of profiles. Therefore the “Invoking guix package” section should remain the go-to place. But I would still like to address your patch [2] “[PATCH] doc: Clarify need to update search paths on foreign distro” by just removing the duplicate, unnecessary, incomplete instructions. I will send a patch to the guix-patches mailing list.
