I keep seeing GWL in unexpected places, so I feel the need to state that the GWL is not meant to help anyone *build* software. It’s meant to let you *combine* applications and *run* them on an HPC cluster (or on a bunch of physical or virtual machines) to process raw data. The intended use case is scientific workflows.

Don’t try to use the GWL as a build system; it will end in tears.
