It usually takes 1 or 2 months: http://wiki.qemu-project.org/Main_Page#News I didn't mean to add this release candidate to Guix, but I wanted to make it available to whoever is interested — especially since I spent a lot of time comparing my collection of bug reports against the 2.9.0-rc1 code to check what was and was not fixed :) I think having it here in the mailing list archives is sufficient.
