Regarding marketing, I can relate to your aversion to the habitual unethical practices in that field, but I think there is nothing wrong on telling people about your service once in a while. I wouldn't mind, for example, seeing a reminder of the existence of guix-hosting.com once a month, or bimonthly, on the Fediverse. But that's just me anyway... :)
