v1.6.4 Make Check Error

Hello,

I am trying to compile Guile v1.6.4 on Mac OS X v10.4.11 (PPC).  When I run
the "make check" command, I receive the following error.

ERROR: srfi-19.test: SRFI date/time library: #<procedure time-utc->date
(time . tz-offset)> respects local DST if no TZ-OFFSET given - arguments:
((system-error "putenv" "~A" ("Bad file descriptor") (9)))

Any ideas or guidance on how to resolve this error would be appreciated.
