Well, I'm sure we all tried this route here and there. Sure enough, back last year, I tried that as well -- but to no avail. Guile would get stuck during the next step, when compiling the *.scm files. See http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/bug-guile/2013-05/msg00006.html for more details. Thanks.
