It allows programmers to use functionalities of the Avahi client library from Guile Scheme programs. Avahi itself is an implementation of multicast DNS (mDNS) and DNS Service Discovery (DNS-SD). Together, these protocols provide support for fully decentralized host naming and service publication and discovery. More information is available from: http://avahi.org/ A test suite may be run using "make check"; the Avahi daemon must be running.
