One small remark regarding the manual:

This should read (in Texinfo) “not a definition---even if the original”,
because the end result should be an em dash (info "(texinfo)
Conventions").
Nitpicking, but Brian Gough would probably nitpick similarly before
clicking on “print”. ;-)
