mmmm, as i understand, xlib is a graphic toolkit library for the x server, so it is not widely portable and depends on the xserver.
glib doesnt depends on xlib. GTK does like any other api. xlibs apps. are very very ugly and mostly are hard to use and program. i think that glib is adding portability to gtk and uniformity on functions names, etc. Cheers. 2008/6/5 jaafar EL GONNOUNI <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>: > Hello; > > What is *glib *adding that the GTK + compared to *Xlib *? > > All what is possible with glib with Xlib is feasible, then why create a new > library. > > Best regards. > > -- > EL Gonnouni Jaâfar. > GSM : +21266682150. > _______________________________________________ > gtk-list mailing list > [email protected] > http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/gtk-list > >
