Output widget in the sense , user is informed (e.g. by changing widget's color) about some system events not user provides input (e.g button press, mouse clicks) in short I wanted to represent an LED which should change color according to some condition

All widgets are output widgets in a sense, but e.g. GtkLabel is an output label for text messages (and images).
