umesh, i think you were giving me a Yahoo Messenger alias but im not sure as i dont have a yahoo account.
after looking into documentation and writing a lengthy email with options, i just found this function called gdk_pixbuf_from_pixdata() which can use the existing pixel data without copying it. http://developer.gnome.org/doc/API/2.0/gdk-pixbuf/gdk-pixbuf-inline.html#gdk-pixbuf-from-pixdata i think this should solve you problem. if it doesnt work, let me know and ill send you the length email with alternative solutions. :) tell me how it works out for you.
