[libgnomecanvas]

I built it against GTK+ 2.4 on Windows a few weeks ago using
MSYS/MinGW and the gladewin32 GTK+ packages. It seemed to work OK,
though my canvas objects didn't seem to receive every GdkEvent
(particularly GdkEventCrossing) they should have, making it a little
more difficult to use than under X11.

Have a look at bug: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?/137551

That sounds like exactly what I was experiencing. It looked like focus in and out events weren't being emitted, so I had to waggle the pointer around until eventually one was triggered.

Is this fixed in GTK+ 2.6?

Apart from that, it worked exactly the same as on GNU/Linux, apart
from some font differences (the glyph rendering was not as nice and
clean as with FreeType graymaps).

It's hard to say if it is fixed in 2.6 or not. The patch for gdkeventcrossing is not in 2.6, so if the problem you're experiencing is related to that, then your problem is probably not fixed. But if it is related to the cursor issue in bug 137551, then it probably is fixed. Hopefully someone can review http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=152566 so it can get fixed for the next win32 release.
