*Location : Des Moines, IA* *Duration : 18 months* *Replication experience especially with Golden Gate is key*. The *Operational DBA (DBA 5) *position is part of CORE’s QA and Infrastructure Team. CORE (Common Opportunities, Results and Experience) realizes global opportunities for Wells Fargo’s by: § Achieving company’s vision to satisfy all of our customers financial needs § Building the foundation for ONE Wells Fargo § Retaining and advancing our position in the Lending Industry § Casting team members as the keys to our successful implementations § Creating new way of thinking, innovative skills to enhanced career opportunities Daily activities could include any/all of the following: § Provides high technical expertise for the *planning*, analysis, design, development, implementation, administration, maintenance, and control of the organization's server-class databases § Handles and leads the most complex or critical data/database management initiatives that typically involve multiple disciplines and multiple business groups, including responsibility for infrastructure and database architecture, design, integration, and data modeling § As the recognized technical expert, consults extensively with multiple client groups to provide strategic solutions, influencing long range internal and enterprise-level data/database architecture and management strategies § Perform Database functions based on Oracle 10g/11g EE RAC including performance tuning. § Perform Infrastructure support of various Oracle Database concepts, including but not limited to: connections, load balancing, failover, active data guard, CRS, ASM, SQL tuning, scheduling. § Provide on-call support for production environment – including deployments/migrations, running patch, bug fix scripts, and routine maintenance. § Provide security administration for all databases. § Install DBMS software and database patches (CPU and PSU) § Analyze non-functional requirements and implement Grid Control (Oracle Enterprise Manager), archiving, scheduling jobs, RMAN/daily backups/Recovery and monitoring strategies. § Perform Data Currency (Data Pump, Export/Import) functions. § Provide proactive monitoring of the database instances, and take preventive steps (setting up alerts) to ensure high availability. § Must be strong in analyzing how Oracle resources are being used during SQL executions. § Expert in utilizing the database tools like TOAD and performance tuning tools like Explain plan, AWR, ADDM, Grid control or similar technologies from other vendors like Quest. § Expert in TOAD and other § Create/maintain documentation of database installations and other DBMS processes. § Partner with development teams to create a high volume transaction system. § Perform software testing using industry standard best practices. § Recommend best practice SQL tuning approaches to CORE development groups § Provide impact analysis reports on database configuration/schema changes § Conduct iterative and high performance tuning of RAC and database environments starting from development § Research and design database/infrastructure solutions for scalability based on business requirements § Serves as a consultant on technological advancements § Provides oversight, mentoring and leadership to less experienced staff § Demonstrated ability to quickly learn, retain, and apply business rules and terminology, apply good interpersonal skills, and perform effectively under time pressure are critical skills required for this position This is an exciting group that is every changing and growing. He/She must have the ability to adapt to change quickly and adjust work accordingly in a positive manner. *Basic Qualifications: * § 7+ years in database design and administration *Minimum Qualifications: * § 7+ years experience in database administration and design and/or modeling or equivalent combination of education and experience. § Proven experience in implementation of high availability solutions with Oracle 10g/11g RAC, CRS, Physical and Logical Standby database, Active Data Guard, LogMiner, Materialized views, Bi Directional Streams Replication, Golden Gate and Quest SharePlex. § Proven experience in Grid Control (Oracle Enterprise Manager) scheduling jobs, RMAN/backups/Recovery, import/export and data pump § Extensive experience in performance tuning of RAC and large scale Oracle databases (>1TB) § Demonstrated experience in database architecture, data modeling and schema design § Population and tuning of databases, ETL processes, SQL queries while meeting business requirements and client’s needs § Proficient in SQL, PL/SQL, shell scripting and analyzed Batch programs § Proven ability to troubleshoot and trace data related issues throughout the architecture § Proven experience of large scale OLTP and OLAP and DSS database deployments § Demonstrated experience in meta-data management and data traceability techniques § Experience in using data quality and data profiling technologies and utilizing the tools like Explain plan, AWR, ADDM and implementation of partitioning and indexing. § Must be strong in analyzing reports generated from tools and action plan to overcome performance issues. § Excellent verbal and written communication *Preferred Qualifications: * § Bachelor's degree in IT (Computer Science, Information Systems, etc.) or related field and 9+ years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience in information systems design and development § Oracle Database Administrator Certification “10g” or “11g” § Experience with Oracle technologies (partitioning, indexing, security, encryption, performance tuning, memory management, SQL tuning, statistics gathering, Application audit logs, Oracle total recall, Oracle RAC, XML Manipulation, Scheduling, etc.) § Experience in Oracle RDBMS internal, Oracle Network and Transparent Data Encryption (TDE). § Experience in orchestrating the coordination of data related activities to ensure on-time delivery of data solutions to support business capability requirements including data activity planning, risk mitigation, issue resolution and design negotiation § Demonstrated experience with designing and managing relational database technology with multiple RDBMS vendors (Oracle preferred) in OLTP, data delivery and OLAP usage § Demonstrated ability in designing effective management of reference data § Experience with multiple data extract and delivery designs and developments including Pub/Sub, ETL, Operational Data Stores/Subjects Data Marts/Analytical § Experience in IBM Data stage, Oracle Data Integrator or similar tools. § Familiar with Data standards/procedures and data governance and how the governance and data quality policies can be implemented in data integration projects (Knowledge and experience in using Data profiling and Data Quality tools) § Proven experience with Agile methodology and understanding of SDLC in an agile environment § Experience for integration Database layer and application layer (Java) like Hibernate § Experience with build systems like SVN, Maven and Continuum.
