I had promised to look into that, but my paperwork with the FSF is still pending. Feel free to contact me for bouncing ideas or whatever. As for this set - the changes to the kernel header structs and naming should be non-controversial, and will be required for a final unified loader anyway. Could you possibly break those out as a separate set, which could then be merged earlier?
