I attempted to compile GRUB2 on Ubuntu Linux and I got the following message:
make: *** No rule to make target `util/powerpc/ieee1275/grub-install.in', needed by `grub-install'. Stop. As I mentioned, I am new to the development process, but is this as simple as it seems; a make rule missing for powerpc ieee1275.
