True. The best i could come out with was for an exporter to not retry too aggressively and a station to log the condition as a warning (which will be hopefully acted upon).
We could also think to further define what "not too aggressively" means: it could be that the retry timer should not be less than one minute, for example, and an exporter may provision for a manual way to clear the retry timer.
FWIW, if not covered at the BMP level, the TSP RST Diag discussed in TCPM might be helpful: https://mailarchive.ietf.org/arch/msg/tcpm/ZTvLkMeXM-BnvvZ3z68EmniUWls/. But, no stable spec is available though.
This would indeed be super useful when it pans out. We could keep it in the radar for future specs of BMP.
