Dear all,
I hope this message finds you well. We are happy to share a new draft
named "draft-wang-savnet-remote-measurement-osav-00". This draft proposes a
method to remotely measure the deployment status of Outbound Source Address
Validation (OSAV) without the cooperation of volunteers in the remote network.
This remote measurement of OSAV deployment provides a practical way to
effectively measure a large number of ASes.
The proposed method can measure whether OSAV is deployed in the remote
network, i.e., whether OSAV is present or absent. In addition, it can measure
the filtering depth and granularity, i.e., the farthest hop to which a spoofed
packet can be transmitted, and the shortest prefix length between the real IP
address and the spoofed address that is not blocked. These metrics were
previously available only by volunteer-based approaches, like Spoofer.
We welcome your feedback and discussions on this draft. The draft can be
accessed directly via the following link:

Best,
Shuai Wang
