As usual, I'm behind in email, but the above works for me. When
I'm at home the downloading of large messages doesn't noticeably
affect things (using getmail(1) under cron). But when I'm on the
road it's a pain under less reliable networks, especially on
trains and buses.
Nonetheless, I have always been against large attachments from a
sysadmin point of view: most people leave attachments in their
mailboxes and sometimes both in their mailbox and somewhere else
on the filesystem, more than doubling the necessary storage
required. And it's really hard to get most users to learn the
extra procedures for dealing with this.
