Yes. Sadly. Although some of us are lucky enough to mandate a file naming policy within our own organization (and some of whom we advise) that says spaces are taboo.
By the way, when we wrote our own .SO macro to address the original issue, we never saw this problem because we had chosen to use a macro (over which we had total control) and which follows quoting rules.
