I didn't often interact with Ted directly, but I encountered his posts
frequently in my trawls through the mailing list archive in search of
answers to some question or other.  His oeuvre has helped me more than
once (and his posts were a pleasure to read even when they didn't
apply to my question).  Sorry to hear he's no longer with us.
