Hello, I'm now in a similar situation as Steffen had been some time ago. Heirloom doesn't format groff's manpages correctly. One of the reasons are macros added to groff's -man (.SY, .OP, .YS) which are of course unknown to other roff variants. I thought implementing these shoud be simple but I see no chance to implement them different from groff while having the same functionality. The relevant header in this file is:
.\" Copyright (C) 2007-2014 Free Software Foundation, Inc. .\" .\" Written by Eric S. Raymond <e...@thyrsus.com> .\" Werner Lemberg <w...@gnu.org> .\" .\" You may freely use, modify and/or distribute this file. I cannot use the first line unfortunately, it is not compatible to licences of other files. The remaining lines I would copy. There is no FSF licence text in this file an the last line says to me that I can "freely use it". Do I get legal issues when I use .SY, .OP and .YS *with* the above header without the first line? (Or if I modifiy it to .\" Copyright (C) 2007-2014 Eric S. Raymond <e...@thyrsus.com>, .\" Werner Lemberg <w...@gnu.org> .\" .\" You may freely use, modify and/or distribute this file. Carsten
