The way I handle preprocessors and other options, is, to put them into a (pseudo-) comment in the first line of a document, like e.g.: .\" tbl eqn lnd This line is interpreted by my groff shell script and I can never forget to run the required preprocessors and to set the appropriate optoins (landscape in the example).
