I don't know -me so can't answer on your specific problem. But have youtried making the page length very long instead of trying to remove the inter-page gap?
And there's another annoyance to this method: the output file will containt at leat one whole page, Imagine writting an email and outputting into a file with about 1000 lines. Or I'll have to adjust the page length every time. It's similar to using static arrays when the exact size is not know beforehand.
