I would like to introduce myself to the group. I support a small group of scientists who have been studying mainly the bottlenose dolphins of the outer Southern Moray Firth in Scotland for over 10 years now and have an extensive ID catalogue of these dolphins. Now the research has expanded to include Minke whales, Common dolphins and various other species who inhabit the Firth. We are also lucky enough to have breeding colonies of puffins, guillemots, razorbills and other seabirds very close to the research base.
Dr Kevin Robinson heads the Cetacean Research and Rescue Unit and is a great inspiration to all who encounter him. The CRRU is independent and believes in non-invasiveness at the heart of the research philosophy. The best thing I can do is ask you to look at the CRRU's website where you can find the research papers as well as information on how to become involved more directly in the research. Every year groups of people from all over the world join the CRRU to take part in helping with the research. They also learn how to rescue dolphins and small whales when they strand as well as how to use boats safely around cetaceans. Click on "Join the Research Team" to find out more. http://www.crru.org.uk/ <http://www.crru.org.uk/> All the best Tara
