WHAT 

500-600 decision makers will convene for this four day, adventure
travel business conference in Brazil, bringing together the global
adventure travel community to network, collaborate, learn, and more
effectively tap into the burgeoning potential of adventure travel. 

The 2008 Adventure Travel World Summit in South America (2008 ATWS-SA)
blends intensive networking â€" including an entire day dedicated to a
buyers-suppliers marketplace â€" with compelling content featuring an
array of deep, core business sessions aimed at sustainable growth,
travel trends, traditional and Internet marketing, customer
acquisition strategies, partnership building, guide training, agent
training, customer relationship management, cash flow, risk
management, and other business disciplines directly affecting
organizations’ bottom line profitability. 

Objectives of the 2008 ATWS-SA include: 

• Bringing global visibility to Brazil, specifically, and to South
America, in general, as adventure travel destinations; 

• Fostering networking and relationships between adventure travel
providers, especially between Brazil, South America and North America; 

• Improving the business skills and professionalism of adventure
travel stakeholders (operators, guides, agents, etc.) worldwide; 

• Increasing business for adventure travel companies throughout South
America, and for those companies interested in investing South
American product; and 

• Raising industry-wide awareness and investment in community-based
tourism initiatives worldwide. 

Held in conjunction with Brazil’s thriving consumer Adventure Sports
Fair â€" which draws thousands of companies and expects more than 70,000
consumers to visit the event â€" the 2008 ATWS-SA will strengthen ties
between the South American adventure travel industry and the global
marketplace, serve to professionalize the industry, and provide an
executive level conference for solutions-oriented dialog, debate, and
deliberation on critical topics.

The inaugural 2008 ATWS-SA is co-organized by the Adventure Travel
Trade Association (ATTA) and its Association Partner, the Brazil
Ecotourism and Adventure Travel Association (ABETA), with support from
The Tourism Minister of Brazil and Embratur, Brazil’s destination 
marketing organization. 

Attracting 500-600 executives, influencers and decision makers
representing tour operators, destination marketing organizations,
tourism boards, travel agents, accommodations, media and service
organizations with a vested interest in the adventure travel industry.
