Dear David, You may be 100% correct in your description Mozilla's employees reaction, yet it doesn't make much difference.
The interaction I was talking about was between the board and Brendan. I can't believe that Brendan resigned without talking to the board, or that he would have resigned had the board strongly supported him. And, after his resignation, the board issued a mealy-mouthed press-release not defending its employees right to hold personal opinions, but rather "let's be friends and forget about this distasteful affair" type of announcements. The board must have expected him to resign. If not, your board is simply incompetent and should be immediately replaced for that reason. If the board did expect him to resign, the board should be immediately replaced for being a spineless and despicable bunch of jelly fish.
