I had the same issue. Here's what fixed it for me (which probably isn't a great idea, but hey whatever works works) microsoft demands this: <!DOCTYPE html> i just completely removed the doctype tag completely and presto it works. So the solution was to do the exact opposite of the "fix" from microsoft. Don't get me wrong I think ALL browsers are pretty awful, i'm not trying to single one of them out.
works on all of them, 86 the doctype all together.
