I am simply trying to embed a map in a web page so that it works nicely on iPhones. What I have now works in Firefox and Safari, but on the iPhone it behaves strangely.
The "+" and "-" zoom buttons don't show (they do show in Firefox and Safari). The only zooming feature that works properly is the double tap to zoom in. When I try to zoom back out by two-finger pinching, it does change the scale/resolution, but the view totally changes to some other part of the map and I can't find my way back to the starting point by scrolling around; it is too far removed from the field of view and I don't know which way to scroll. (The text link below the map brings up the Maps app, where everything works fine.) Notice that I embedded the map div in a mapwrapper div that's sized smaller than the viewport because otherwise the user couldn't scroll down the page once the map fills the viewport -- because any scroll gesture at that point would be hijacked by the map. Here is the url: http://www.coalscapes.com/page3_iphone.php Thanks much for any help. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Google Maps JavaScript API v3" group.
