Dear All

I am trying to resolve a problem with an Oracle application that is
integrated to Google maps and hopefully you can help. As the Oracle
application is 'black box' I do not know the API version, but this may
not be relevant at this stage.

Problem: Call made to find location in Guernsey, Jersey of Isle of
Man, using Postcode and Country Code are failing.

Observed problem:
1. If my application sendings a Guernsey postcode of 'GY1 3BZ' and
Country of 'GG', Google maps does not find a location.
2. If my application sendings a Guernsey postcode of 'GY1 3BZ' and
Country of 'GB', Google maps finds location.

Proof:
I have created test cases with the example above.A simple changing of
the country code from GG to GB fixes the problem (although this is not
a good enough workaround)

The problem appears to be around the unicode ISO3166 Alpha2 code being
send through the API for Guernsey, Jersey and Isle of Man (which are
not part of the UK). My application is sending GG, JE and IM
respectively, in line with the ISO standard. Google maps appears to
want the code GB which is from an earlier standard (pre 2006)

Question: I want to know if Google maps API supports these codes (GG,
JE, IM) and ISO3166-1.
Regards

Tg
