I get that but I'm finding it difficult to do, not least because I'm finding it almost impossible to relate method calls in the Objective C API to actions described in the calendar API documentation. Regardless I think I have my answer. The calendar API docs, under "Retrieving events for a specified date range" read in part "First, authenticate the user, if you haven't already done so."
