Hi Steve,

Within the Python 3 runtime, some GAE services that were previously bundled
were removed ot support a full idiomatic Python experience[1] and is
recommended to migrate to the recommended solution of ElasticSearch on
GCE[2]. There is currently a feature request on our public issue tracker[3]
requesting the Search API to be made available in Python 3.x. As it is a
feature request, there is no timeline nor any guarantee it will be
implemented in the future. We recommend to star this feature request to
receive any future updates and also upvote the issue to increase
invisibility.
